The structural geometry of a rocking chair and the ergonomic demands of a chair, results in a design with a clear distinction between elements of structure and those of contact with the human body. The bended and rolled steel is drawn as a continuous two-dimensional line balancing the contained body. The two-dimensionality of the flat steel is interrupted by the thin transverse rod steel, which not only provides the chair with structural strength but also creates a sense of a spatial object.

The seat and back is made of oak and shaped to the resting body. The profile of the wood is shaped thin and delicately, slightly tapering outwards and becoming thicker where it joins the metal. To gain the necessary strength, the profile of the wood gets gradually thicker towards the middle of the seat. The steel is mounted in a rebate in the wood with bolts on the backside of the steel that goes into insert nuts in the wood, and the chair can be disassembled and flat packed.
