Frame House III is situated by Sejerø Bay, and its elongated shape compliments the surroundings of tall pine trees. The house has a zone on each side that can be used for inside or outside functions according to the requirements of the rooms and the natural conditions on the site. Inside the zone contains the kitchen, a couch, storage, niches and bay windows. Outside the zone creates covered spaces for the entrance, firewood storage, a rainwater-barrel and places to sit with different views and levels of privacy. The kitchen space unfolds into the terrace during the summertime, where the dining table easily can be carried out under the sky. The construction is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and made in planed Douglas wood. The windows and sliding doors are mounted on the outside of the construction so you get the feeling of the pure wood construction framing the forest. The long house has a repetitive wooden construction and large roof overhangs. Its construction is made of douglas wood that originates from a forest and sawmill less than 100 km from the building site. Walls and roof are diffusion-open and made entirely by the wood-based materials from inside to outside. The plinth is made from reused granite stones which once were window sills at the now torn down old buildings of the national hospital in Copenhagen.
